We Invite YOU to Help Us Defend Our Crown at…
 Come have a wing and cast your vote for your fav Bushwick, BK eatery ( US!) on Saturday, February 25th from 2 to 7:30pm. Life Cafe 983 will be returning to prove that we are still making THE BEST WINGS IN BROOKLYN in 2012. Held annually at the Brooklyn Red Star in Greenpoint, this competition is getting hotter every year like our 2011 Brutal Wings winner. Over 2000 wing lovers are expected to make an appearance this year where a dozen or more of the best wing purveyors will be handing out thousands of pounds of free wings all afternoon long. Be sure to show up early because the waits are expected to be long, but the rewards are well worth it. You get to eat our wings after all. |

| The estimated 1500 to 2000 attendees will vote for their personal favorites via the People’s Choice ballot, which will be tallied at the end of the day while the judges weigh their consensus picks.
Borough President Marty Markowitz and the event’s beneficiary,Teddy Atlas, will make the final presentations early evening around7pm.

Pulling in our Winger, Matthew Kopel, for the second year in a row, he’ll be joining Andy Mills, 983′s Official Beer Dude and the BK hood’s favorite bar aficionado, slinging our wings (as well as some smiles) to the masses for us again this year.

It’s Oscar Month for Bushflix at Life Cafe 983!!!
This month is all about the Oscar’s!!! We will be showing either nominated or former winners of Oscar’s every Tuesday night. We will also be doing pick’em sheet for $10; with the top 3 winners being awarded. This Month’s Artist @ Life Cafe 983
Leslie Van Stelten Biography
Originally hailing from Denver,Colorado, Leslie Van Stelten is one of those transplants to the Big Apple who has rooted herself into the cracked pavements and graffiti-covered buildings of Brooklyn like a glorious weed that can’t help but grow and flourish in such a steely environment.
She’s a photographer and photo illustrator of exceptional talents whose work appears regularly on CD packages for bands and musicians, in local publications such as The Village Voice and Go Magazine, and prestigious design and publicity projects. But her heart and soul explode into action when capturing the denizens of the NYC underground scene like no one else – from the unique subjects to the stunning lighting to the exaggerated reality she portrays, Leslie’s work evokes a visceral feeling in the viewer that’s hard to shake and impossible to forget.
